DESCRIPTION:In celebration of National Marine Week\, we will be hosting an Exhibition Action Day to showcase the talent and creativity of Sustainable Schools Eco Clubs! \nThe day would involve an environmental educational aspect focused around the Marine & Coast theme\, which would be followed by the learners performing/ showcasing their art to the group. \nWe will be partnering with ocean-themed organisations to join us in the environmental education component\, and to be part of our panel of judges. \nWhat will learners learn:  A fun\, interactive lesson on the importance of oceans in our ecosystems on land. \nFor your marine-themed artwork\, the following types of media can be submitted: \n\nShort film (maximum 3 minutes)\nSculpture\nPainting/drawing\nPoem (maximum 1 minute)\nPerformance (maximum 3 minutes)\nPhotography\nDigital art\, e.g.\, TikToks\, Reels\, etc.\, (Maximum 30 seconds)\nFashion design using recycled materials\nSong (maximum 3 minutes)\n\nBe sure to dazzle the judges by using recycled/ upcycled materials! DESCRIPTION:You are invited to our very first action day of 2023. Join us for an exciting day filled with activities and informative programmes. Learners are invited to participate in greening the Doordrift Greenbelt by planting indigenous fynbos plants as well as learning about the importance of creating spaces for biodiversity to thrive. \nThe action day will take place at the Doordrift Greenbelt in Constantia on the 10 June 2023 from 9h00 to 13h00. Learners will start off with a fun educational activity and thereafter getting their hands dirty by planting indigenous plants. \nRSVP’s are now open!  May learners please arrange to be transported by parents or by the respective schools. DESCRIPTION:Join Greenpop for their Fynbos for the Future Open Planting Days! \nThey have two Fynbos for the Future planting days coming up and we are looking for some hands to help them out. Sign-up to volunteer and help plant fynbos gardens at under-greened schools in Cape Town! Participants can assist with: \n\nPlanting of fynbos plants\nWeeding and garden maintenance\nPropagation of additional plants\n\nThese planting days will take place at various schools in the Cape Town area\, and participants will plant alongside learners from the school. \nUpcoming Dates: \n\nTuesday\, 8 November 2022 – Alicedale Primary School (Athlone)\nTuesday\, 15 November 2022 – Highlands Primary School (Mitchells Plain)\n\nHow much does it cost?
