DESCRIPTION:Around the world\, many schools\, teachers\, students and communities are trying to make their schools green and climate-ready. In the lead up to the 29th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29)\, UNESCO invites students\, teachers\, schools\, universities and local communities to participate in a #GreeningEducation campaign. \n  \nJoin the campaign and share your stories! \nWe want to hear how you are making your educational environment climate-ready. \nShow us the amazing ways in which you are making a difference for our planet. Inspire others to be part of the change and help shape a sustainable future for all. \n  \nHow to participate \nCreate a video or take a photo: tell and show us what your school\, teachers\, learners and community are doing to green education and get your school climate-ready. You can post a photo with a caption or a short video. \nMake your photo or video with the help of other students and your teacher(s). Tell us: \n\nWhat was the problem you were trying to fix?\nWhat actions did you take to make your school more climate-ready?\nWhat are the results?\nWhat else needs to be done?\n\nYour photo or video should illustrate what actions are taking place in your school to make it green and climate ready\, and what more needs to be done. In your photo or video show us the physical environment in your school – your buildings\, your gardens\, your classrooms\, or whatever space is getting “green”. \nEntry Guidelines: \n\nBe creative and concise – Videos should not be longer than 2 minutes\nShare your video or photo on your social media accounts – including Instagram\, TikTok\, and Twitter\nTag and hashtag – In your post\, tag UNESCO (@unesco\, @unesco_es\, @unesco_fr) and use the hashtag #GreeningEducation\n\nAny other relevant information pertaining to the event (e.g. only 5 teachers per school\, items to bring along\, etc.) \nFinal Deadline for all entries – 31 October 2024 \nLocation: All countries

SUMMARY:From Eco-Anxiety to Eco Action & Empowerment Competition
DESCRIPTION:The Trust for Sustainable Living is excited to launch its next competition inviting students to share their original\, creative and expressive responses to the theme\, From Eco-Anxiety to Eco Action & Empowerment. \nTSL wants to help young people develop a sense of agency\, empowerment and hope for solutions and action by creating a safe and supportive space and outlet for expression for students and teachers to explore moving from feelings of eco-anxiety\, to eco action & empowerment. \nWe are open to accepting any form of student response\, you can choose to create a piece of artwork\, music\, video\, poem\, essay\, letter\, story\, etc.  There are no restrictions on the type of work submitted\, we want students to be as open and creative as possible in interpreting the theme\, however it must meet the submission criteria detailed in the brief. \nThe winners of this competition can win from $1000 to $10 000 \nFor more information\, visit https://trustforsustainableliving.org/take-part/international-schools-essay-competition-and-debate \nAny other relevant information pertaining to the event (e.g. only 5 teachers per school\, items to bring along\, etc.) \nFinal Deadline for all entries – 3 March 2025 \n
