SUMMARY:The Big Biodiversity Challenge 2024 (Western Cape)
DESCRIPTION:The Western Cape Environmental Education Friends (WCEEF)\, together with members CapeNature\, SANBI\, Nature Connect\, SANParks and the Two Oceans Aquarium\, is thrilled to announce a new competition for children in grades 6 – 9. \nThe competition calls on students to submit projects that offer solutions to any of the many threats facing biodiversity. These solutions can take the form of a scientific project\, creative arts project\, or social project. The goal is to encourage critical thinking and creativity in addressing issues such as the unsustainable use of natural resources\, habitat destruction\, uncontrolled fires\, and climate change\, which all contribute to the decline of biodiversity. \nThe competition is open to all schools in the Western Cape and submissions can be made individually or in pairs. Participants will have the chance to win exciting prizes. \nAll students in grade 6 – 9 are encouraged to participate\, and it is recommended that teachers motivate their students to enter this competition and become part of the movement to protect biodiversity. DESCRIPTION:Keeping Camps Bay Clean\,\nbeach clean style!\nClearer Conscience is an organisation that assists in collecting recycled materials from your doorstep.  Join them at the Camps Bay Clean Community Clean on Saturday\, 15 June from 10:00 to 11:00 with special guest\, Mayor Geordin-Hill Lewis. \nThey will meet at Camps Bay Primary School\, Symmonds Field. \nBring along your family\, friends\, and your own gloves. \nClearer Conscience will provide bags and a refreshment for each participant\, courtesy of Fitch and Leedes. The 41 restaurant is donating a prize for two burgers to the person collecting the most litter.\nCurbCycle is donating a prize of a 7-litre residential food waste bin\, a roll of 20 compostable bags and weekly collections for three months. \nCome along and help keep our community clean. There will be other awesome spot prizes up for grabs! \n#TogetherHelpingThePlanet ⭐️
