My School has History Research Project – Grade 4-7

Activity Introduction

In this activity, learners investigate the history of their school grounds, exploring how biodiversity might have changed and what the school looked like during four different time periods.

Grade: 4-7

Prior Knowledge: Ensure your learners understand how to interpret historical evidence. They should understand the different types of evidence and how to critically examine them.

Resources Required: Educator Guide, Learner Worksheets, Rubrics, Pre-downloaded time-lapse video, Internet or library access

Key Concepts & Skills: Investigating, Recording, Interpreting, Creativity

Duration: 3-4 hours (can be completed over a series of lessons/weeks)
