BirdlifeSA’s Bird of the Year 2025 is the Red-billed Oxpecker. This lesson introduces the Red-billed Oxpecker lesson series to learners and includes various activities to help teachers promote active listening and collaborative thinking among learners.

Grade: 4-6

Resources Required: Downloaded (and printed if preferred) Lesson Plan document and Poster. The Merlin Bird ID app to identify bird calls (free to download).
