Cape Leopard Trust – Virtual Hike in the Cederberg

Activity Introduction

Join Environmental Educator Jaco Fourie from the Cape Leopard Trust on a virtual hike in the magnificent Cederberg mountains in the Western Cape. The hike is packed with breath-taking views of the Cederberg landscape, Jaco crossed paths with a preferred prey species of leopard in the Cederberg, Klipspringer (Oreotragus oreotragus). Setting out to find signs of the elusive leopards of the area Jaco found a scratch tree, leopard scat and beautiful leopard spoor on a riverbank. Getting out on real-world excursions like mountain hikes with your learners can be challenging to arrange, but now you can introduce learners to the wonders of biodiversity that can be found in our beautiful country, all from your classroom!
