Geography Test – The Water Cycle and Safe Water – Grade 4 Term 4

Activity Introduction

The assessment aims to assess and develop skills outlined in CAPS and create awareness amongst students of the importance of water as a basic need and river catchments. The test consists of a section about the water cycle and a case study.

Grade: 4

Resources Required: Assessment Printouts and Memorandums for each learner (downloadable below)

Key Concepts & Skills: • Systems thinking • Engaging with issues relating to the planet, people & resources with knowledge • Reading and writing skills • Work independently • Able to recall facts and share knowledge in own words

Extra Notes: This assessment can be used as an informal test for Term 4 or as part of Term 4’s exam.

Duration: 2 hours (2 consecutive lessons)
