Activity Introduction

Learners will make their own oceanic gyres and explore how plastic moves with a gyre.

Grade: 4-6

Resources Required: Learner Worksheets, rectangular plastic/glass container, water, food colouring, straw (metal or biodegradable), plastic “litter”

Key Concepts & Skills: Ocean gyres, plastic pollution, microplastics

Duration: 1 hour
