Partnering for ECD and Foundation Phase Success: Introducing WILD HEARTS Environmental Education resources
Written by Mikaela Tuck
Partnerships are at the heart of the Sustainable Schools Programme, where we aim to facilitate connections that empower teachers and organisations. We’re proud of the strong network of partnerships that help us bring expertise, resources and innovative programmes to schools across South Africa. Working collaboratively helps to enrich the educational experience for students and helps educators grow in capacity.
We’re launching a series, to celebrate and introduce these collaborations, starting with: the Made Better Together Foundation.
The Made Better Together Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Tenthouse Structures, dedicated to impactful outreach initiatives, including the WILD HEARTS Environmental Education Program. This program offers a unique and engaging way to teach young minds about the importance of environmental stewardship. Early childhood education plays a critical role in shaping the future of our youth and planet. That’s why we’re thrilled to partner with an organisation committed to cultivating such essential development skills.
The WILD HEARTS Program consists of 30 carefully crafted lessons designed to inspire, educate, and empower children from the age of 3. These lessons are aligned with International Environmental Awareness Days and instil a sense of responsibility towards protecting our planet, while also developing learners’ physical, cognitive and emotional skills.
The Sustainable Schools Hub is proud to host 45 additional activities from the WILD HEARTS program in our Resource Library. These activities are freely available to all teachers within our programme. They are designed to complement WILD HEARTS core lessons, offering a variety of engaging, hands-on experiences.
We understand the challenges ECD and junior school teachers face, which is why these activities are easy to integrate into an educator’s existing curriculum. We encourage you to explore these resources on our Hub and see how they can enhance your teaching. The full WILD HEARTS Programme offers school partners full free lesson plans as well as free personalised training to educators. This is a great way to get hands on teacher training!
For more information and to sign up, please contact the Made Better Together Foundation at foundation@tenthousestructures.com. You can find their partner card with more details on the Hub here.
This partnership exemplifies our Sustainable Schools commitment to collaboration. By working together, we can inspire and equip the next generation with the essential skills needed to navigate our changing environment! 🌍
