In the last two years our focus has shifted from eliminating plastic pollution to the importance of bringing communities on our journey to care for and protect our marine environment.

and with government and business to urgently protect, restore and
regenerate the integrity of ocean ecosystems.
Our current mission
TBCO effectively connects people, institutions and organisations through
evidence-based education and experiential learning to keep South Africa’s
beaches clean and healthy and to protect and enhance ocean health.

Building ocean communities that care about marine and human health.
