Find answers, ask questions, and connect with our community.
Environmental sustainability is not a competition of expertise nor counting solar panels.
It’s a community effort where everyone’s steps forward count for everyone’s benefit.

The Beach Co-op

Organisation
Rating:
TBCO is a not-for-profit company that evolved from the work of a group of volunteers that started collecting marine debris at their local surf break, the rocky shore at Surfers Corner in Muizenberg, Cape Town in 2015. TBCO’s vision emerged from these early informal gatherings.
  • In the last two years our focus has shifted from eliminating plastic pollution to the importance of bringing communities on our journey to care for and protect our marine environment.

    Our vision

TBCO works collaboratively and creatively within ocean communities

and with government and business to urgently protect, restore and

regenerate the integrity of ocean ecosystems.

    Our current mission

TBCO effectively connects people, institutions and organisations through

evidence-based education and experiential learning to keep South Africa’s

beaches clean and healthy and to protect and enhance ocean health.

    Our current focus

Building ocean communities that care about marine and human health.
