The Kinship Programme is a registered NPO, with Section 18a Certification. We work at the intersection of education and earth stewardship.
We believe our children ought to know the world that they live in, so that they will be encouraged to champion conservation and sustainable living when they grow up. We also believe that it is imperative that they are able to thrive in our complex, 21st Century world. In order to do so, they need to be able to think creatively and critically, communicate and collaborate effectively and practice metacognition. They need to be able to ideate, initiate and execute their ideas independently. As a result, all of our programmes encourage the development of both 21st Century skills and an ethic of Earth Stewardship.
We aim to leave a sustainable and lasting impact on the lives of the people that we work with, and so we employ transformative teaching techniques and journeys to do so.
We provide:
- Support and training to teachers on education for sustainability,
- Curate environmental education lessons and projects for schools,
- Deliver lessons and curricula, and
- Facilitate immersive journeys in nature that combine hiking and volunteering.
