To recycle white paper, cardboard and PET plastic, great opportunity for women in the community to make money off our recycled material: We still have our Mpact paper recycling bin and so all paper and books that need to be recycled are deposited in this bin.
We also collect white paper for a company called Eazi Waste. They are able to recycle white paper only.
We make our own workbooks and therefore use more paper than other schools which use textbooks, however, as far as possible we make use of both sides of the paper that we use and the pupils are encouraged to recycle their books and booklets at the end of the year. Whenever possible, paper is recycled within the classrooms as scrap paper for the pupils to use.
Cardboard is collected in our cardboard shelter and community members who collect cardboard for recycling as income can access this.
We have asked the same community member if she would also like our plastic PET waste and cans. She will be collecting this too from now on.
