Recycling Recycling of all plastics. School and community Each family or learner will receive a recycling bag, which they will collect plastics at home or within the community. Learners bring toiletry donations that will be donated to the TB hospital. This outreach program will take place in term 2. Outreach programme Non Perishable Goods drive for the SVP society at our schools parish. Ms Minnaars Class Newsletter goes out to the school community. Ocean Guardian Programme I am Water St James and Windmill beach Learners go on a two day holiday programme spent on the beach where they learn about the environment, ecosystems and basic snorkeling. Resources are provided by organisation Ms Minnaar, I am water organization. Term 1
River Guardian Programme I am Water Liesbeek River Grade 7 learners attend a winter river guardian programme. Ms Minnaar, I am Water, Grade 7’s and their educator. Term 3
Outreach Program Holy Childhood Mass Our Lady Help of Christians. Grade 7’s will be attending Holy Mass for the Holy Childhood. The entire school will donate a small contribution towards helping other children in need. These funds will go to schools who are less fortunate. Sanitary Drive A group of educators will give a presentation to the young girls at school on hygiene and the use of sanitary towels. The school hall Ms Minnaar has requested donations from a corporate company. The company and The Ackerman Family Foundation provided the school with sanitary towels, the educators used this as an opportunity to address the young girls at school regarding hygiene and the use of sanitary towels. Recycling Programme for Global Recycling day Recycling awareness – Activation with CDRS as partner School Quad Ms Minnaar ask Ashley from CDRS to come to school to do a presentation on recycling plastics, he agreed, and said this would be a perfect opportunity for our activation to the school.
