The use of coco peat. To grow our own seedlings. Grade 4 – 5 teachers and learners. To teach the students the importance of starting plantation from the scratch as to save and minimize the production cost.
Collecting organic food peelings. To make our own compost for our beddings. grade 4 – 5 teachers and leaners as well as the gardening team. To teach the students the basics of making compost.
Collecting tree leaves, grass cuttings, shredded papers, wood chips. For mulching to keep our bedding moist a bit longer. grade 4 – 5 teachers and leaners as well as the gardening team. To teach the students the importance of shading plants.
Planting of regular vegetables to supplement the school`s feeding scheme. To improve food security for needy learners. To give the students a brother understanding of food reproduction.
Integrating agricultural studies with gardening. To impart skills and knowledge that can help the learners to be able to survive on their own and become independent. Grade 4 – 5 (LSEN)D-CAPS Agricultural Studies Teachers To teach the students a firm basics of gardening so that they are independent and able to teach others theoretically and practically.
