Mini Workshop and Prize Giving Ceremony Celebrates Sustainable Projects in Beaufort West Schools
Karoo National Park recently hosted a mini workshop and prize-giving ceremony in collaboration with three Beaufort West schools – Klawervlei Primary, HM Dlikidla Primary, and John D Crawford Primary. The event was organised to acknowledge the schools’ current progress regarding their sustainable projects and to encourage more eco-friendly initiatives.
The mini workshop was aimed at introducing teachers and learners to the Sustainable Schools Online Hub and our programme offerings.
The prize-giving ceremony was a highlight of the event, with awards presented to the schools based on their achievements in various sustainability categories. Klawervlei Primary was awarded first prize for Health & Well-being and Water and sanitation, winning an all-expenses-paid three-day camp at Karoo National Park. HM Dlikidla Primary received the third prize for Water and sanitation and won two wheelie recycling bins valued at R2500. AH Barbard was awarded second prize for Energy & Climate action and received a voucher worth R1500.
By recognising and celebrating the achievements of schools and learners, we can encourage more schools to adopt sustainable practices and create a greener future for all.
The event was a great success, with the schools and their learners inspired to continue their sustainable initiatives. It was heartening to see the commitment and enthusiasm of the learners, who were eager to learn and participate in making a positive impact in their school and on the environment.
