Join the Wave: How Your School Can Celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day🌊
Every year, thousands of volunteers across the world roll up their sleeves to clear litter from beaches, rivers, and wetlands. Each wrapper, bottle cap or plastic bag collected keeps our oceans cleaner and protects marine life.
How your school can take part:
-
If you’re not able to get to the beach, host a mini cleanup at a nearby park, riverbank, or even your schoolyard (all litter eventually travels to the sea).
-
Track and sort what you collect to see which items appear most often.
-
Use the day to spark conversations about reducing single-use plastics and caring for our water resources.
We’ve also uploaded ready-to-use resources, perfect for preparing your learners to celebrate International Coastal Cleanup Day.
